Cuissonsince 2019 music & cooking band
Cuisson is a gastronomic music group born from the shared passion of three students for cooking, composing, and tasting. Over the course of three years, this project became an exploration of the connection between culinary gestures and musical expression.
First unveiled during our school’s open days, Cuisson turns cooking into a live instrument. Every movement—chopping, stirring, mixing—is captured in real-time with microphones.
While one of us cooks, the other two interpret these actions using synthesizers and pre-recorded sound textures, creating an organic and immersive improvisation.
Cooking is a visual art—we wanted to make it audible. Likewise, music involves movements that often go unseen—we aimed to reveal them, creating a harmony between the gestures of the cook and those of the musicians.
